The annual forum of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) is planned to coincide with the organisation’s annual council meeting. This year’s forum will be the 7th in the series and is scheduled to take place in the same week as the 49th annual council meeting, in Nadi, Fiji, under the theme "Delivering Broadband Connectivity for All: Needs and Challenges".

Being one of CTO’s largest events, the forum assembles top ICT policy makers, regulators, operators and other key stakeholders to deliberate the most effective policy and regulatory frameworks for advancing connectivity, governance, universal access, content creation and successful ICT business models in the Commonwealth and beyond. It creates an unrivalled platform for the examination of best practices and discussions on policy, regulatory and industry opportunities and challenges in the ICT sector in many emerging economies.

14-17 September 2009: ITU-T Forum on Implementation of WTSA-08 Decisions and Workshop on Bridging the Standardization Gap.
Co-organized by the Standardization Sector of the International Telecommunication Union, the United Nations agency for ICTs, and CTO.
The main objective of the event is to review the Asia-Pacific experience in WTSA-08 and activities put in place to implement those Resolutions that are of interest to the region. The Workshop will present expert advice on Bridging the Standardization Gap in Asia-Pacific and key hot topics in ITU-T standards work in various ICTs areas like security, NGN, IP will be also presented.
